This attractive plaque is a copy of the half length Virgin Mary embracing Baby Jesus from the sacred fresco in the Piratello sanctuary in Imola. The crowns on the heads of the figures are held by three flying cherubs. This plaque that includes a ribbon-shaped title block bearing the date 1926 stands out for its elaborate frame. This consists of two branches of roses that spring from cornucopias and symmetrically frame the central figures before meeting at the top over a fan-shaped frieze. The plaque's range of different shades of blue, pink, yellow and green combine with its white background to create a light, fresh airy effect.
