This half length Virgin Mary clasps her hands together over her breast where seven symbolic swords converge. This type of iconography that was very common in Imola ceramic plaques from the 18th Century onwards, is reproduced here with various frame and colour variants. In very antique versions, Our Lady looks relaxed and her clothes are usually dense and sombre. Elaborate marble effects enhance the frames, whereas soft, fluid colours are used for the background sky.
