"This image is a copy of the painting called the Cardinaletta, found in a house in the Parish of Ghiandolino, Imola in 1868. Today the painting is kept in the sanctuary built in 1973. The original is a fragment of an oil painting on canvas that shows the whole of the Virgin's face. Her head is slightly tilted, her eyes are looking up and her hands are clasped together on her breast as in the ""Our Lady of Sorrows"" ico The moulded surface of this plaque exists thanks to the expert craftsmanship of Domenico Minganti, who was head of the Cooperativa Ceramica d'Imola Art Division in the 1950s. The range of colours is limited to orange and yellow that contrasts with the intense blue of the background."
