Our Lady of Piratello, Imola. Dimensions: 15.8x17.6x2 cm

The Virgin Mary is depicted on a narrow backdrop that highlights the figures and gives a rounded finish to their profiles. One of the three traditional crown-carrying cherubs has been excluded. The moulded figures are smooth and precise and the frame is a copy of other wooden ones. A range of colours is used, in large, even areas, but carefully limited to the figures only. The relationship between the warm and cold colours is softened by the snow-white background. As this plaque is quite small, it is particularly suited to home interiors.
