This is a decidedly ârusticâ version of the icon of Our Lady of San Luca from Bologna, in fact, the moulding is imprecise and the small size of the figures differs significantly with respect to the Byzantine representative canons of the original. The title block also spells Luca (Luke) with two Cs in accordance with the Bolognese dialect. The frame is also very different to frames typical of the Imola school.
